When I was trying to figure out what to do besides scales in order improve my violin technique, I had a teacher turn me on to the Daily Dozen. Created by Dounis. Dounis, these exercises help the violinist “Regain the feeling of ease, fluency, and surety which the violin experiences at the end of his daily practice”. These exercises are designed to get the violinist into form in a very short amount of time and keep them in shape for the entire days worth of work. I’m starting off this download with my favorite exercise to do. First portion of it is to be played without the bow and the second portion is to be played with the bow. Read the instructions above and enjoy!!!
